Vineyard

Made with fruit hand-picked from old dry-grown vines in the Watervale subregion of the Clare Valley, this single-vineyard wine has been carefully handled and is delicately expressive of its site. It is of incredible provenance and represents the pinnacle of our Riesling production in an exceptional vintage. 

Winemaking

The fruit was harvested, chilled and gently pressed in reductive conditions, and the free-run juice was allowed to settle at low temperatures before being racked and fermented using cultured yeasts. It was fermented to complete dryness then stabilised, filtered and bottled immediately to capture the natural freshness and fruit characteristics of the vineyard, and has been allowed to rest in the bottle prior to release. 

The Wine

Very pale with green hints in the glass, this wine displays delicately lifted floral and zesty lime juice and lemongrass aromas with hints of green apple and thyme. The palate is fresh and concentrated with lemon and lime flavours with flinty and floral characters supported by a fine acid backbone that gives the wine both intensity, length and a fine mineral finish. This is a delicate and complex wine with both refreshing drinkability as a young wine and the power to age gracefully for an extended time in the cellar.
